About MeerKatta

For the thoughts that disappear while you try to write them.

MeerKatta is built for perishable thoughts: the half-formed ideas, quick observations, rough plans, and sudden inspirations that slide away when capturing them takes too much effort.

Most people do not lose ideas because they are lazy. They lose them because the act of writing turns them into editors too early. You start correcting, rewording, organizing, or judging the sentence, and the thought flow breaks.

MeerKatta is designed for the moment before that happens. Speak first. Keep moving. Let the thought get a body before you decide what it should become.

The first version helps you capture spoken bursts, clean up filler, preserve intent, and turn them into text you can keep, share, or build from. Over time, we want MeerKatta to become a companion for building a stronger capture habit: one that learns your vocabulary, your tone, and your way of thinking without flattening it into generic AI voice.

The bigger picture

AI is powerful. But power is not the problem.

The gap is not capability. It is access, timing, and fit. AI can do almost anything if you know exactly how to ask. But real thoughts rarely arrive as perfect prompts.

General AI

The problem with starting from scratch

General-purpose AI gives you enormous power and very little structure. Every session starts with context-setting: your style, your intention, and the format you want. That works when you are ready to prompt. It fails when the thought is still forming.

Specialist product

A specialist for thought capture

MeerKatta does not try to be everything. It specializes in the path from raw spoken thought to usable text. It knows voice. It knows capture. It knows the difference between a note, a message, a work instruction, and an idea you may want to build from later.

Product craft

Absorbing complexity

Every great product absorbs the gap between what a system can do and what a human knows to ask for. Google absorbed the internet. Canva absorbed Photoshop. MeerKatta absorbs the gap between AI-powered writing help and "I just want to say this clearly before I lose it."

Interaction

The invisible tool

The best tools disappear. You do not think about the tool; you think about what you are making. Speak to usable text. Capture to reflection. Thought to something you can return to. The habit forms, and the interface fades.

Product stance

What we are careful about.

Capture should not depend on perfect conditions

Raw transcription can still work without cloud AI, even offline. On a plane, at a campsite, or anywhere with unreliable network, the first job is to keep the thought from disappearing.

AI should help after the thought exists

AI is most useful when it removes friction without interrupting the speaker. MeerKatta uses AI for cleanup, structure, and context-aware polish, not to make every user sound the same.

Users should choose how the brainpower runs

Some users want managed AI with no setup. Others already have API access through work or personal tools. MeerKatta supports both paths because the capture habit should not depend on one buying style.

Founder belief

Built from a product-design belief.

MeerKatta is created by Lugugul Design, the product and design studio behind the app. Lugugul works across product strategy, product design, and brand systems, with a simple bias: make powerful systems feel usable at the human moment where they matter.

For MeerKatta, that belief becomes a practical product question: how much effort can the tool absorb so the user can stay with the thought?

“Product is about absorbing the complexity and gap between the system and the human.”
